PlaSmart® Inc. respects its customers’ privacy.  All use and communication is intended to help inform customers about PlaSmart® Inc., its services and products and other relevant industry information.

This Privacy Policy:

  • describes the information that PlaSmart® Inc. and its subsidiaries collect about users and how that information is used;
  • does not apply to websites, applications or services that display or link to a third-party Privacy Policy;
  • applies only to our online activities and is valid for visitors to our website with the information that they share in and/or collect while on this site;
  • is not applicable to any information collected offline or via channels other than this website.

SECTION 1 – INFORMATION COLLECTION

When you browse our website, download or purchase something from our website or through third-party marketing tools, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, company, address, and email address.

Log Files:  PlaSmart® Inc. follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites.  All hosting companies do this and a part of hosting services’ analytics.  The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks.  These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable.  The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.

SECTION 2 – CONSENT

How consent is obtained:  By using this Site, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.  When you provide us with personal information by completing a request for information, download or purchase, verify your credit card, place an order we imply that you consent to the collection and use of it for that specific reason only.  If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no.

How to withdraw consent:  If you change your mind after opting in, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you, for the continued collection, use or disclosure of your information by emailing Privacy@PlasmaCar.com, or by mailing PlaSmart® Inc. SECTION 3 – INFORMATION USE, AND SHARING

We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site.  We only have access to/or collect information that you voluntarily give us via email, completion of onsite forms, or other direct contact from you.  We will not sell or rent this information to anyone.

We may share your information with:

  • any company within the PlaSmart® Inc. group of companies for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, (e.g. global information and customer relationship management; software and service compatibility and improvements; and to provide you with any information, applications, products or services that you have requested);
  • our service providers and agents (including their sub-contractors) or third parties which process information on our behalf (e.g. internet service and platform providers, payment processing providers, and those organizations we engage to help us send communications to you) so that they may help us to provide you with the applications, products, services and information you have requested, or which we believe is of interest to you;
  • third parties necessary fulfill your requests, such as shipping orders;
  • third parties used to facilitate payment transactions, for example clearing houses, clearing systems, financial institutions and transaction beneficiaries;
  • third parties where you have a relationship with that third party and you have consented to us sending information (for example social media sites or other third party application providers);

We may share non-personally identifiable information about the use of our website, applications, products or services publically or with third parties but this will not include information that can be used to identify you.

SECTION 4 – MARKETING

From time to time, we may use the information that you provided us with your consent to contact you with details about our applications, products and services which we feel may be of interest to you.  You may also request at any time that we do not share your information with third parties referred to in this paragraph.  If you wish to exercise these rights you can do so by emailing Privacy@PlasmaCar.com, or by mailing PlaSmart® Inc. PlaSmart® Inc. may share your information with third party platform providers (such as Facebook, Google and Twitter) to serve targeted advertising/content to you via the relevant third party platform based on your profile/interests.  Your information is used by the third party platform provider to identify your account and serve advertisements to you.  You can control what advertisements you receive via the privacy settings on the relevant provider’s platform and you should consult the third party’s help/support centre for more information.

SECTION 5 – THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

In general, third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.  However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.  For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.

Please remember that certain third-party providers may be located in or have facilities that are located in a different jurisdiction than either you or us.  If you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.  For example, if you are located in Canada and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in the United States, then your personal information used in completing that transaction may be subject to disclosure under United States legislation, including the Patriot Act.

Once you leave PlaSmart’s® website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy.

SECTION 6 – SECURITY

To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.  Please remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.  While we strive to use commercially acceptable means and implement additional generally accepted industry standards to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Cookies:  Cookies are small text files which may include anonymous unique identifiers that are transferred from our websites, applications or services and stored on your device.  We use cookies to help us provide you with a personalized service, and also to help make our websites, applications and services better for you.

How to disable cookies:  You may be able to configure your browser or our website, application or service to restrict cookies or block all cookies if you wish.  However, if you disable cookies you may find this affects your ability to use certain parts of our website, applications or services.

SECTION 7 – LINKS, OTHER SITES, AND SOCIAL MEDIA

This website contains links to other sites.  If you follow a link from our website, application or service to another site or service, this Privacy Policy will no longer apply.  Please be aware that we are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of such other sites.  We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of any other site that collects personally identifiable information.

Our websites, applications or services may enable you to share information with social media sites, or use social media sites to create your account or to connect your social media account.  Those social media sites may automatically provide us with access to certain personal information retained by them about you (for example any content you have viewed).  You should be able to manage your privacy settings from within your own third party social media account(s) to manage what personal information you enable us to access from that account.

SECTION 8 – AGE OF CONSENT

By using this site, you represent that you are at least the age of majority in your state or province of residence, or that you are the age of majority in your state or province of residence and you have given us your consent to allow any of your minor dependents to use this site.

PlaSmart® is committed to the protection of children while using the Internet. SECTION 9 – CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We reserve the right to update or change this Privacy Policy at any time, so please review it frequently.  Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website.  If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it.

Your continued use of the website after any modifications to the Privacy Policy are posted on this page will constitute your acknowledgment of the modifications and your consent to abide and be bound by the modified Privacy Policy.

If our website is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that we may continue to sell products to you.

SECTION 10 – VISITORS FROM EUROPE

Personal data in the European Union is protected by data protection laws but other countries do not necessarily protect your personal data in the same way.

PlaSmart’s® website and some of its applications or services or parts of them may also be hosted in the United States and this means that we may transfer any information which is submitted by you through the website or the application or service outside the European Economic Area (which means all the EU countries plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) (“EEA”) to Canada and the United States or to other territories outside of the EEA.  When you send an email to us, this will also be stored on our email servers, which are hosted in the United States.

By using our website, products or services or by interacting with us in the ways described in this privacy notice, you consent to the transfer of your information outside the EEA in the circumstances set out in this Privacy Policy. If you do not want your information to be transferred outside the EEA you should not use our website, applications or services.
